We are seeking a Residential Conveyancer to become part of our property team, handling a diverse portfolio of transactions from initial inception through to completion. The role involves managing sales, purchases, remortgages, and transfers of equity, offering clear and accurate technical guidance when needed, and ensuring an excellent level of client service throughout. This position offers a strong opportunity for an experienced conveyancer or qualified solicitor to continue developing their career within a progressive and supportive firm.

Key responsibilities:

Progress a personal caseload of residential property transactions, including freehold and leasehold sales and purchases, remortgages and transfers of equity; ensure matters progress in line with agreed timescales and client expectations.
Prepare, review and draft transactional documentation such as contracts, transfers, priority documentation, replies to pre‑contract enquiries and requisitions on title; ensure accuracy and compliance with lender and firm requirements.
Conduct detailed title and file reviews, identify and resolve title issues, defective documentation and leasehold matters; escalate complex or unusual issues to senior colleagues as appropriate.
Liaise proactively with clients, estate agents, mortgage lenders, surveyors, other firms and third parties to obtain information, chase outstanding actions and coordinate transactions to completion.
Maintain accurate file records on the case management system, ensure thorough file notes and document management, and assist with time recording, billing information and preparation of completion statements.

Key skills and experience:

Proven experience as a residential conveyancer, fee earner, senior paralegal or qualified solicitor handling a range of residential property transactions within a law firm or conveyancing practice.
Sound technical knowledge of residential conveyancing matters, including searches, title issues, leasehold matters, mortgage documentation, SDLT and completion accounting.
Excellent drafting and document review skills with strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate, timely work.
Highly organised with the ability to prioritise competing demands, manage deadlines and progress a varied caseload with minimal supervision.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and a professional manner when dealing with clients and third parties.
